Welcome to the European Medical Center, a clinic or group practice of general and specialized Medical Doctors and paramedical therapists, especially osteopaths and physiotherapists ("kinésithérapeutes"). There is also a blood sampling every morning.

We have a secretary (reception), which is open from Monday to Friday between 8:30 and 17:00, but closed on Saturday, Sunday and official Belgian holidays. The reception is also open every day during the vacation/holiday seasons, but may be closed earlier on the afternoon in the holiday season.

Please note that you are obliged to wear a mask in our Center!

The reception can help you for all questions regarding our Center and our therapists and they can arrange appointments for most of the therapists - but some manage their schedules themselves and some accept also appointments via Doctena (EUMC) – please check below.

After the lockdown, all the doctors and therapists are back again and started or continued to see patients for treatment.

For any question, just call the secretary: 02 / 280.13.42, or send an email: e.m.c@skynet.be (Mail, but the answer may need one or two days).

Our Center is in the heart of the European quarter, in the neighborhood "quartier des Squares" in Brussels at Square Ambiorix 40, just 500 m away from Rond-point Schuman and its European institutions, metro and rail connections (see the plan of STIB, the Brussels' metro agency, as PDF, for Schuman). And a bus stop is directly in front of the Center at Square Ambiorix.

Our laboratory

We work with the renowned international laboratory Synlab, which is one of the largest and best in Belgium.

For the moment, there is a very high rush for the request for swabs and serology/antibody tests for detecting the Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) or its antibodies. With our greatest efforts, we try to organise everything to manage all your reqeusts, but we are overwhelmed by the numbers. Therefore we ask kindly to excuse the inevitable delay. And we can do blood samples or swabs only on appointments.

Please note also that the laboratoy is temporarily not able to guarantee swab resultats within 72 hours! This means that swabs for people leaving abroad can not be done within the prescribed delay!

We do the swabs ("frottis") in the nose and throat ("nasopharyngeal") for PCR for a direct detection of the coronavirus, which is obligatory for entering into many countries and also when returning from red and orange zones abroad. We do also the blood samples for serolgy to detect antibodies against the virus, which proofs that you have had already the infection. After the swab/sampling you get a code for finding the results online. Later, the laboratory will send you an invoice. The costs are on your own account, unless you fulfill the official Belgium criteria for a reimbursement and unless you have a medical prescription (which must also indicate clearly the official indication for being valid for a reimbursement).

For the good organisation, make at first an appointment via our reception (02 / 280.13.42 - but even there you may have difficulties to join us due to the high number of calls). Or you make your appointment online by Doctena (Link). Please come to our Center some 5-10 minutes in advance, not too early, and alone (only for children less than 12 years, one parent is authorised to accompany them). Please wear your mask and bring your Identity card with you, eitehr your Belgian or any other. Give also your prescription to the reception, if you have one, but this is not obligatory. At first you have to fill a form, which contains also the criteria for which you may get a reimbursement by your Belgian assurance ("mutuelle"). Afterwards the nurse does the swap or blood sampling. And that's it!

If you come for a "normal" testing, our nurse takes blood and does also all kinds of sampling in our Center: The blood, urine and other samples are collected several times every day and usually the results are send to the ordering doctor already in the evening (except for special tests, which may take some days).

Also for a blood sample, it is for the moment obligatory to make an appointment in advance (due to the overwhelming requests for swabs), via our reception (02 / 280.13.42) or online by Doctena (Link).

Thank you for your understanding!

Stay healthy!
